EG5INT – equipo compuesto por jorge EA2TA, Cristian EA3NT, Ramon EA3OR, Raul EA5KA y Guillermo EA5MON, activaran del 20 al 24 se septiembre desde las ISLAS COLUMBRETES que son el archipiélago más singular de la Comunidad Valenciana y uno de los pequeños espacios insulares de mayor interés ecológico del Mediterráneo.
Están formadas por una serie de islotes y escollos situados a 30 millas de la costa de Castellón, unos 56 Km., y reunidos en 4 grupos, a los cuales les da nombre la mayor de cada una de sus islas: l’Illa Grossa, la Ferrera, la Foradada y el Carallot. la tan buscada ista EU-069 Isla de Columbretes cuenta con las siguientes referencias.
Asentadas sobre un fondo situado a unos 80 metros de profundidad, las Columbretes representan el mejor ejemplo de vulcanismo de nuestra tierra, fácilmente apreciable tanto por los materiales que las forman, como por su peculiar aspecto. Destaca l’Illa Grossa, formada por diversos cráteres encadenados, y el Carallot, que, con sus 32 metros de altura sobre el mar, es el testimonio geológico de los restos de la chimenea central de un volcán.
La parte emergida es Reserva Natural y está protegida por la Conselleria de Medio Ambiente, Agua, Urbanismo y Vivienda desde el año 1988. La Reserva Marina que rodea el archipiélago está gestionada por el Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Medio Rural y Marino desde el año 1990, actualmente tiene una superficie de 5.543 ha.
